HERTZ is an art brand with a unique identity, more akin to a company name or the name of an art collective. The featured works are not created with the intention of being sold, and products for sale are listed in the Product section of the website, presented more as branded goods rather than artworks. “HERTZ” is a unit of frequency in the International System of Units (SI), representing the number of vibrations per second. Electromagnetic waves are invisible but travel in wave-like forms, vibrating as they move forward. One vibration per second is 1Hz, two vibrations is 2Hz, and 200 vibrations is 200Hz. Each piece within HERTZ embodies a frequency of 1Hz, symbolizing that each work carries its own unique vibration. This vibration naturally creates resonance, leading viewers to experience another vibration that sets off a ripple effect. HERTZ is an art brand dedicated to showcasing works that evoke this dynamic and profound response. Currently, the brand is managed by its founder, Cleo Jung, who serves as the sole featured artist, curator, and art director.
